エディ仕様のストラップをVan Halen Storeより買ったのはよかったがこれが異様に長く、具体的には一番短い設定にしても30cm以上長くて実はエディ仕様ではなく琴欧洲仕様の間違いではないかと思えるほどの長さであり、なんとかしようにもどうしようもなく、小手先のゴマカシなど絶対無理で思い切ったことをしないことには使い物にならない宝の持ち腐れ状態で困っていましたが、根本的対策に踏みきりました。
知り合いの服屋さんにお願いして仕立て直してもらいました。

端の部分をいったんバラして、33cm切断して端を縫い付けるという作業をしてもらった結果、完璧に綺麗に短くなりました。
肩に当たるところだけでなく全体が幅広いのでズレても痛くならないことを、実際に装着したうえで演奏してみて実感しました。本当に快適です。

さっそくギターに取り付けて肩に掛けてみたわけですが、長すぎて使えないことが判明！一番短くしてもダメです。。。
今使っているストラップと長さを比べてみましたところ、32cmも長いです。しかも一番短くしてこれです。これを取り付けるとギターの位置が10cm以上も下がるわけで、これではとても弾けん。しつこいようですが一番短くしてこれです。困りました。どうすればいいのコレ。
というわけで、対策をいくつか考えてみました。
１．あまった所を切り取る
２．結び目いっぱいつくる
３．短い形に折って縫い合わせる
１番が現実的なんでしょうかウーム。。。いい方法ないでしょうか。
アメリカ人ってこの長さでもオッケーなんだろうか。
もしかして私が何か根本的に間違っているのだろうか。

7月上旬に発送できる予定であるとのことでしたが、もう今日来ましたよ！
今までの千円のストラップとは作りが全然違う。。。当たり前ですが。かなり丈夫です。
全体が幅広でやわらかく、どこが肩に当たっても
痛くなさそうです。

リンク: Red Hot Chili Peppers : レッチリ、活動休止中にスーパー・グループ結成？ / BARKS ニュース.
なぜ、この人を中心にこの記事が書かれているのか不明なのですが、レッチリのドラマー、チャド・スミスが、活動休止中にご近所さん達とバンドを始めたそうです。
彼は、元ヴァン・ヘイレンのサミー・ヘイガー（Vo）やマイケル・アンソニー（B）、名ギタリスト、ジョー・サトリアーニらと一緒に、 Chickenfootというバンドを結成したらしい。すでに10曲近いトラックを制作しており、レッド・ツェッペリンをライバル視しているそうだ。
豪華な面々が集まったスーパー・グループだが、結成したのは単に“近くに住んでいる”のがきっかけだったようだ。
元ヴァン・ヘイレンのメンバーが二人も参加しているのということで、ファンは当然たまらんのですが、肝心のギターがジョー・サトリアーニというのも個人的には嬉しいです。
年内にアルバムをリリースすることになりそうとのことで、これは要チェックです。

VAN HALEN is reportedly filming select shows on its current tour for an upcoming DVD release. Last night's (May 13) concert at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey was the first performance to be filmed, according to singer David Lee Roth.

「マスターズ」直後に膝の手術を受けたばかりのタイガー・ウッズは土曜日、「タイガージャム・イレブン」に姿を現しました。オークションやディナー、ヴァン・ヘイレンのコンサートなどが行われたこのイベントでは、タイガー・ウッズ基金のために150万ドルを越える寄付金が集まりました。ラスベガスのマンダレイベイホテルに集まったのは、タイガーの意思に賛同した豪華な顔ぶればかりでした。

リユニオンツアーを敢行中だがエディの検査のためにスケジュールがずれたヴァン・ヘイレンですが、ここ数年のボロボロっぷりを見て思わず「ムリしなさんな」と言いたくなるのもわかります。
最近のひとつだけ良い話と言えば、父親の痛々しさを見ていられなくなってか、エドワードの息子、ウォルフガング君（16）がグループに加入した。
つい高い所から飛び降りたりするのがロックン・ローラー魂。薬物でボロボロでは骨粗しょう症のような体であろう。どうかもうムリはしないで欲しい。
特にガン以降のエディにはこう言いたくなるのももちろんわかるのですが、せっかく才能あるのに大勢の人の前で披露せず聴かせず見せず、また記録に残さずに死んでもらったらもっと困るのです。ボチボチでもいいので活動続けて欲しいと思うのです。
つまりは早くアルバム出して欲しいんです。

Guitar Hero なるゲームがあります。いわゆる音ゲーですね。ギターの形したコントローラーを使って画面どおりにリズミカルにボタンを押すというゲームです。

うわさ：Activisionが以前からのうわさを認めて「Guitar Hero：Aerosmith」を発表して以来、ゲームファンはこのシリーズのバンド名を冠した次のタイトルは何かと考えてきた。
Guitar Heroの次のバンドを当てるゲームでもっともよく出ている名前の1つがVan Halenだ。
エアロスミスの次はヴァン・ヘイレンというのは、うれしい世論ですね。
「ギターといえばエディ」というのはもやはスタンダードなのかな。希望的観測。
ギター型コントローラーの写真を見るとボタンが5つあるようなので、タッピングの登場する場面が多く出て来そうです。多少テクニカルになるのでしょうか。
しかし問題もありそうとのことです。お金の話。
ガセか本当か：これ以上考察するには手がかりが少なすぎる。しかし、Van Halenの移り変わりの激しい経歴を考えると、Aerosmithの場合ほどロイヤルティの状況を整理するのは簡単ではないかもしれないということは指 摘しておいていいだろう。そして、オリジナルの曲と「Van Hager」時代の曲のどちらを選ぶかというジレンマもある。それからもちろん、Gary Cherone氏もいるわけだ。
確かに、どうやってお金を分けるかは苦労しそうですね。
ゲームファンの間で「エアロのつぎ？そりゃヴァン・ヘイレンだろ」という話になっているというのは嬉しいことですし、Guitar Hero は欧米では相当なビッグタイトルなので、これによって初めてヴァン・ヘイレンを知る若いゲーマーの数を考えると、そこらへんの問題をクリアする価値は大いにあると思います。
なんとか発売にこぎつけて欲しいものです。

［ロサンゼルス ３日 ロイター］ ロックバンド「ヴァン・ヘイレン」は、ギタリストのエディー・ヴァン・ヘイレンさん（５３）が医師の検査を受けるため、現在行っているツアーの米国での日程を一部変更する。ツアー主催元のスポークスマンが３日に声明を発表した。
ヴァン・ヘイレンさんは過去にがんの闘病やアルコールの問題を経験しているが、今回の検査については具体的な内容は明らかにされていない。
声明は「医師によると、エディー・ヴァン・ヘイレンは、詳しい診断と必要な医療措置を見極めるため総合的な検査を受ける」としている。
バンドは昨年９月から北米ツアーを行っていた。
ううむ。行きたいのだが現実にはなかなか難しい海外ツアー観戦ですが、このようなニュースが出ると、今のうちかと思って行きたくなってきますね。

読み方は、日本語では「ごー・いち・ごー・まる」と呼ぶのが一般的でしょう。英語では「フィフティーワン・フィフティー」ね。
エディ先生はこの数字をいたく気に入っているようで、7枚目のアルバムのタイトルは「5150」、シグネイチャーモデルのアンプは「5150」、自分のスタジオは「5150スタジオ」と、なんでもかんでも5150。
だから、私の好きな数字も5150です♪
